Let's Get Real!

My CTMH Buddy, Sarita from BlessedScrapper.com, inspired me this morning with a great descriptive post on her blog.  She defines "consultant" perfectly by demonstrating that you don't have to have a mind set of "sell, sell, sell" to be successful and to enjoy being part of the CTMH team.

Personally, I'm the last person who wants to be in front of a group sounding like a used car salesman.  I joined Close To My Heart because I LOVE scrapbooking and really just wanted the 22% discount on their amazing products.  Everything else that came with it was a beautiful surprise!  By joining the CTMH team, I became a member of an amazing team of woman who share my love of crafting.

I've had the opportunity to travel with these amazing ladies to annual conventions, weekend crop retreats, business building workshops, and regular get-togethers.  We've enjoyed trips to Disney Land in California, had crazy Boot-Stompin' fun in Dallas, Texas, and will soon travel to Disney World in Orlando, Florida.

In addition to meeting fabulous people, I've had the opportunity to move out of my comfort zone and learn that my creative side means something, not just to me, but other reputable crafters in this industry.  Yes, I would love to be able to scrapbook 24x7 and make a living doing so, but that's not in the cards right now.  So, I will continue in this role as "Consultant" (aka: friend, hobbyist, creator, teacher, guide, mentor, and teammate) for as long as I possibly can.

Softball Display Tray

This project was so easy to create using the CTMH Display Tray and a 12x12 sheet of cardstock I found at Hobby Lobby.  I love this paper because it's interchangeable for softball or baseball projects.  

Simply use the entire 12x12 sheet and cut 12- 3'x4" squares.  Unlike other display trays you may find at various retail stores, this tray accommodates a true 12x12 sheet without any funky cuts or wasted scraps.  

Final step...add embellishments of your choice.  Yes, it's that easy!

Can you believe it is already the start of a brand new year?  2013, holy cow!  Rather than create the list of resolutions that I usually end up bailing on within the first week, I've decided to put my efforts toward getting my family, life, house, photos, scrapbooks, papers, embellishments, etc. organized and working productively!  What good is having boxes of fabulous fun stuff, when you don't use it?

So, now is the time and this is the year!  Join me and try to schedule some "me time" to work on what's important to you.  Just like Stacy Julian said at our 2012 CTMH Convention, "if you don't tell your story, who will?"

I would love for you to use this as a forum to share your ideas and pics on how you keep your life and family organized! This is no longer a blog strictly about scrapbooking... we're all mom's, friends, sisters, aunts, etc who need to find some balance regardless of your situation, so please share!  These are pics of the people who keep me motivated.... my beautiful girls (and dogs)...   Happy 2013!!!!
